The Interdisciplinary Support for Biotechnology & Genetics in Africa Project aims to link and extend three existing networks of scientists working in Africa (the Africa Genome Education Institute, the Africa Genome Policy Forum and the West African Bioethics Training Programme) and foster interdisciplinary partnerships required to evaluate and communicate the ethical, social, economic and legal issues associated with biotechnological innovation and the new genetics in Africa. The Biotechnology & Health Economics Working Group, which meets annually in Cape Town, South Africa, is part of the overall project. Project Associates: Open University & the AGEI are leading the project. Funded by the British Council and Innogen (Open University) |
